Stitches
So, we had our first trip to the ER with Easton. Friday night, he and Shyler were jumping on her bed (not 5 minutes before I told them to stop). I was in the living room and heard him fall off and hit something. I ran in, and was scolding Shyler for jumping when I told them to stop, and she was looking right past me at Easton, I turned around and his face was covered in blood. I FREAKED OUT! No exaggeration here...I truly freaked out! I yelled to Cole to get out of the bathroom, while I ran and grabbed some tissues to wipe him off and see where he was bleeding from. It had quite a gash on his forehead but that was it. I yelled again to Cole informing him that Easton needed stitches, and I ran to the garage to start the car, and told SHyler to get her shoes...I'm shaking and running around like a crazy woman, Easton is crying and trying to get the rag off his head that I was holding...We drove to Instacare, but they had closed already, so we drove to the ER in Orem (No WAY we were waiting at Provo!) They got us right in, cleaned him up, and told us that he'd need to be put under so they could do it without him wiggling around...So they gave him a shot in his bum and we waited for him to zone out...but it wasn't working very well, and so the doctor ordered more! The second shot worked and he was down for the count. Shyler enjoyed watching the doctor carefully stitch her brother up. I just felt bad for my little boy...even though he couldn't feel it. :( He got 4 stitches, and then we had to wait for him to wake up a bit before they'd let us leave. About and hour and a half later, they released us, but he was WAY out of it. He's fine now, just like new, and I'm sure that wasn't our last ER visit in his life...but hopefully it's a while before we do it again...

Raising a little girl
Ok...Shyler is 4 now, and it's starting to be challenging trying to teach her the right way to talk to people! She's so sassy! Last night I was reading her a book and trying to put her covers on her and she said, "i'm not cold", and I said, "you will be later"...then she says, "I care mom"(which in her language means, "like I care")...ugh..Then the night before that, she was naughty and we put her to bed early and she yells out of her room, "I'm not shutting my eyes!!". It's comical, but at the same time, it's something you want to stop, ya know? I guess all we are required is to teach them right, do our best, and hope they will do right... Besides all this though, she really can be so sweet, she always says, "Mom, you look beautiful" and "Dad, you look handsome"...
One quick note about Easton...his words are getting so much better! Yesterday I was sitting in the computer chair and he came over and said, "LAP!"...normally he just throws a fit, yells nonsense sounds, and points for me to pick him up! I was so proud of him!
