Smart Kid

Ran by the drive up ATM this morning to deposit Cole's paycheck... Shyler asked me what all the bumps were.
That's Brail. It's so blind people can read, since they can't see, they can feel those bumps and read what it says.
As we drove off...she asked,
But how can blind people drive?
Pretty perceptive that she realized it was odd to have brail at a drive up ATM..

How do you know?

Last night we were sitting with the kids reading scriptures (thanks to my friend Lori who let me borrow some young family-friendly scripture books) anyways...so Shyler and I were taking turns reading and Shyler says to me, "Mom, how do you know this really happened?" and I replied, "Well, you can ask Heavenly Father if it did and if it's true and he'll let you know. Like you might feel a warm inside." We finished up reading and she disappeared...a little while later she comes upstairs and says, "Mom when I first went downstairs I was cold, but then I was warm cause I asked Heavenly Father if it was true, and I felt warm"

Kids Day

Saturday we took the kids to Spanish Fork's Fiesta Days- Kids Day. All of the activities and games were free. It was great and the kids LOVED it!

29 Going on 15

This weekend I had a blast with a group of girlfriends!
It started with a trip to the Salt Lake Temple to do a session with a few of them... we didn't find out until we were at the temple that it is closed in July... oops... Thank goodness we are in Utah and there are temples everywhere! We quickly drove to Jordan River Temple and did a session there. I haven't been to the temple in such a long time, so it was so nice to finally go again, and with such wonderful girls!
We then met up with some more fun girls for dinner at Texas Roadhouse... my first time... I'm IN LOVE! It was as great as everyone says it is! If you haven't gone, GO!

After that we all went to Ashley's (one of the girls) house. We found out that we were going to do a Scavenger Hunt, so Jenny (it was also her birthday! yay!) printed out a list of different tasks we had to try and accomplish. We split into 3 teams and headed out at 11:00 o'clock! We had 1 hour to complete as many of the tasks as possible. It was seriously SOOO fun! I felt like a teenager again and it was hilarious... Don't worry, we had to take pictures of all the tasks, so please... enjoy... LOL

Ok, so i'm totally not giving you any captions... way funner for you to figure out just what the crap we are doing... haha.

Post so I never forget...

I was at a baby shower this week and holding a beautiful little toddler girl... and I said to Easton, "Can I bring her home with us?" and Easton said to me, "No Mom, you can't have two babies!". I replied, "Two babies? Who's my other baby?" "Me!" he said.
Yes, he is my baby... FOREVER!!!!!!!

Daring

So today I am wearing Skinny Jeans!

I have never worn these without boots covering the bottoms!

A few hours later...I've got this blog draft open, but behind something I'm working on with my boss... well we closed what we were working on and up pops this post... He's staring right at it while I frantically (trying to act casual) try to open another file we need so this isn't what we're staring at... wasn't quick enough, I'm sure my boss just loved that I was declaring my courageousness in a blog post... HAHAHAHA.
This post was dumb... now it's memorable... hahaha

On the Inside

So last weekend (4th of July) we took the kids out on a 4-wheeler ride and we were shooting "potguts", they are like groundhogs... anyway, the kids kept wanting to see them after.. gross, but whatever... Well when we got home, the kids found out the Grandma Sandra had gotten some chickens, and Shyler was telling me that the night before something had killed one of the chickens... let me just replay the conversation....
Shyler: Something killed one of the chickens and I went over and looked at it.
Me: Shyler, why did you do that? Why do you keep wanting to look at dead things?
Shyler: 'Cause I wanna know what we look like inside us!

Ok...so part of me is saying, ok...I have a future doctor on my hands...but then the other part of me is saying...mass murderer?? LOL

Cowboy

I forgot a super cute thing Easton kept doing while camping (thanks Shantel)...Easton began referring to my brother in law Jeff as "Cowboy"...for everything... Like, "I'm going on a ride with that Cowboy", or "Did you see what that Cowboy did?" It was so funny!

Jeff is in fact a cowboy, he rides bulls and hauls hay, and all the stuff cowboys are supposed to do...

A weekend of riding wheelers

We had a great 4th of July weekend camping with 2 of Cole's sisters and their families. We all took our trailers up and some 4-wheelers and I spent a lot of the weekend taking kids around on the wheelers. They LOVE it! As do I. I've decided Cole and I need to take them out more often. I actually didn't break my camera out that much, (yes, you can be amazed)...so here is what i did get...
My neice Destri, Shyler and Myself
My neice Jadee and Easton

Destri again (Shyler took this picture)
Shyler shooting my pink 22
(Please do not leave me comments about this being unsafe. Shyler and I went over all the safety rules, we were the only two at camp, and I was only feet from her. We are a hunting family, and we teach gun safety...deal with it)

Shyler snapping a pic me right before our long ride together
Shyler geared up and ready to go!
Bug eyes!
We had such a great weekend! I cannot wait to go do it again!

Struggle

I'm struggling a little with my youngest growing up...I know he's no longer a toddler (he's 4) but luckily for me, he's on the smaller side and so still feels like my baby. And the best part, he still lets me cuddle and kiss him, and every day he says, "Mom I love you the most!".
The other morning i was cuddling him in bed and I said, "I don't want you to grow up." and he replied, "But I have to!"... It was a bitter piece of truth that I do not yet want to taste....

Quite the vocab...

This weekend while camping, Easton was sitting in his cute little blue camp chair and wiggling around, balancing it on two legs, etc... well suddenly the chair tipped sideways and he exclaims, "Whoa! Didn't see that coming!" It was too funny!
