Jumping to my death!!

Ok, so not really...but on Monday, I went with a group from work to do a ropes course...long story...but the main thing is I climbed a really tall tree and stood on a really small platform and took the "leap of faith" and jumped! I of course screamed. But I was glad I overcame my fear and did it!!

5 Slightly Embarrassing Things Few People Know About Me.

 1. In elementary school (probably 5th or 6th grade) I was obsessed with Beverly Hills 90210. I had a HUGE (i'm talking Frisbee size) button of Luke Perry and I would wear it to school on my jacket. I thought it was destiny that we'd meet some day and get married! 2. Once at a party in highschool I was sitting in a room with a group of friends (guys and gals). And I accidently farted. haha. I was just going to play it off like nothing happened, but one of my guy friends had to yell out, "did you just fart?"...so embarrassing... 3. In a basketball game in highschool, I stole the ball and was running down the court to our basket when i tripped on my own foot and fell on my face. What made it worse was that the newspaper photographer caught it and put it on the sports page! (luckily he didn't realize I had tripped myself and wrote some headline about me going after the ball) 4. In Middle School I was running for a class official office and I actually used the slogan "I have a dream" on some of my posters... 5. I used to choreograph dances to Paula Abdul's "Cold Hearted Snake" and "Straight Up" and then make my whole family come sit down and watch me perform. I thought I was amazing!

Stitches and Glue

Glue Job

Glue Job

Ok, so about a month ago...I posted our little ordeal about going to the ER with Easton and getting stitches...Well last Thursday I got a call while at work from Easton's daycare...He had fallen or been pushed, (they weren't sure) and had hit his face on the edge of a rocking chair...Cole went and got him and we determined that he would again need stitches!! So he took him to the ER again! Well luckily this time they decided that they'd try and glue it together to avoid putting him out again (I was happy about that!)..I ended up needing to meet Cole at the hospital to bring a diaper and I got there just in time for the doc to come in and begin...A male volunteer held Easton's head, a male nurse also held his head and attempted to hold the gash together..cole was holding his arms and chest, and I ended up needing to hold his legs since he was kicking! He was SOOO mad! He was screaming and trying to get loose. Poor guy! It took about 5 minutes and they finally felt like it was secure enough, however the glue was a messy job! Easton was so upset, he kept screaming "done, done!" before they had actually finished...After a few minutes he was able to calm down and he was fine before we even left the hospital. He's doing great, but I just don't know how I can handle raising a boy! I swear he hits his head every day! (if you can see in the picture, on the opposite cheek he also has a HUGE bruise (from falling TWICE on the same spot!) I was sure the hospital was going to call DCFS on us!!

Writing and using the potty

Some big events have happened in our house!!!

Shyler has begun writing her name all by herself! We've been practicing, but yesterday she surprised us by pulling out a paper and pencil and proceeding to write out each letter of her name! We are SOOO proud of her! This fall she'll begin preschool and I know she'll be picking up so many new things! I can't wait!

The other big event- Easton started using the potty!! Last night he did a "#2" in the potty and we all of course cheered and high fived him! Then this morning, i woke him up and he had a dry diaper, so we went into the bathroom and he sat on his little potty and went pee!! (yes, i've started him with sitting...we'll advance to standing later)..So i'm not going to push this too fast, but I'll definetely be encouraging him!!! YEA!!
